Kindle2: first pictures

The first images of what is rumoured to be the new version of Amazon.com's e-book device the Kindle have been widely published. Amazon.com is due to unveil the device to the world at a press conference to be held in New York later today.

According to The Bookseller's US correspondent many heads of houses will be there, with would-be attendees now being placed on a waiting list.

MobileRead Forums, which first published the images, says there is now growing certainly that Kindle2 will be revealed at the conference: "Yes, we are now pretty much absolutely sure that this is what Amazon is going to present to the world next Monday."
