17.10.11 | Graeme Neill
Hot Key Books has hired HarperCollins' head of children's sales as its new sales and marketing director.
Kate Manning will join the publisher on 2nd January 2012 and will be responsible for a fiction list comprising between 30 and 50 titles per year.
Manning has also worked at Simon & Schuster, Pan Macmillan, Random House and Waterstone's.
Sarah Odedina, managing director of Hot Key, said: "[Manning's] breadth of sales experience as well as her wonderful reputation in the children's arena will be a formidable asset to our new company."
Manning said: "To be invited to be there at the start of such an exciting venture is a huge privilege. I’m really looking forward to working with Sarah and team, helping shape the list and watching it grow, and working closely with all our future Hot Key authors and customers to get brilliant and inspirational books into the hands of children.”
