15.03.12 | Charlotte Williams
John Smith & Son academic booksellers and Oxford University Press each scooped two awards at the Academic, Professional and Specialist Bookselling Group awards, presented last night (14th March) at the APS conference in Warwickshire.
OUP won the Publisher of the Year and Distributor of the Year awards, with John Smith's taking Chain Bookseller of the Year, and its University of Glasgow shop winning the Bookshop of the Year title.
Also among the winners were bookseller Liz Nugent at Blackwell in Newcastle, who was named Bookseller of the Year, with Fiona Anderson from Palgrave Macmillan taking the Rep of the Year title.
BA head of marketing Alan Staton said: "The awards celebrate everything that is good in our industry so it's important for us to recognise these achievements."
