James Wong for Orion
02.05.12 | Charlotte Williams
Orion has acquired a title about growing your own food from garden-designer and television presenter James Wong, with plans to publish in September 2012.
Orion non-fiction publishing director Amanda Harris bought world rights, with exclusive Europe and Far East, from James Wills at Watson, Little for the title, James Wong's Homegrown Revolution. It will be a £20 hardback with 80 colour photographs.
The book details what edible plants to grow, how to grow them and how to cook and eat them, with the focus on new ideas and vegetables likely to be new to the British veg patch, including green tea, sweet potatoes, bamboo shoots and quinoa.
Harris said: "I've been a huge fan of James Wong since his award-winning TV series 'Grow Your Own Drugs', and I have no doubt that his Homegrown Revolution will appeal to an even bigger audience.
"This is one of the most ground-breaking gardening titles in years and we are delighted to be publishing it."
