Penguin Modern Classics is reissuing James Jones’ From Here to Eternity to coincide with a new musical adaptation by Tim Rice and Stuart Brayson this September.
Now containing previously censored scenes and explicit language, the Second World War classic won the 1952 National Book Award and went on to sell millions of copies. The film adaptation, starring Burt Lancaster, Frank Sinatra, Deborah Kerr and Montgomery Clift, won eight Academy Awards in 1953.
The stage production will open on 30th September at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London, and the book will publish on 29th August as a £9.99 paperback.
