Guardian Faber has acquired Veneto: Recipes from an Italian Country Kitchen by food writer and photographer Valeria Necchio, to be published in June 2017.
In Veneto, Necchio will introduce Italy's "best kept secret"; the cuisine of the Veneto. Celebrating the food and flavours of North Eastern Italy, the book will include over 100 "lovingly-written" recipes from the region including Sarde in Saor (Marinated Sardines), Lasagne al Radicchio e Salsiccia (Radicchio and Sausage Lasagna), Baccalà alla Veneta (Stockfish Stew) and Gnocchi di Zucca al Burro e Noci (Pumpkin Gnocchi with Butter & Walnuts).
Editorial director Laura Hassan acquired world all language rights from Jon Elek, United Agents.
Hassan said: "Valeria has a lovely unpretentious warm writing style and this book will be both a delight to read and to cook from."
Necchio said: "I am honoured to write about the food of my roots. The corner of Venetian inland where I'm from has long lived in the shadow of Venice's appeal. I am looking forward to sharing its culinary and cultural heritage through the recipes and stories in Veneto."
Necchio runs a blog called Life Love Food where she shares her recipe. Her work has been featured in publications including Food52, Kinfolk, the Guardian and Die Zeit. She is a food columnist for Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.
