Indigo acquires two from US debut author
21.08.12 | Charlotte Williams,
Orion imprint Indigo has acquired two YA books by American debut author, Tess Sharpe.
Editorial director Amber Caravéo bought UK and Commonwealth rights in Far From You and one other standalone novel from Julia Churchill at the Greenhouse Literary Agency. Indigo will publish the first novel in spring/summer 2014.
Far From You is described as a "gripping mystery and a compelling debut" which is told in flashback by the main character, Sophie. Sharpe mixes Sophie's memories of her murdered friend, Mina, with the story of Sophie's efforts to track down Mina's killer. The book will be published in the US by Disney Hyperion.
Caravéo said: "I am thrilled and delighted to welcome the very talented Tess Sharpe to Orion. Far From You is a stunning debut—compelling and moving in equal measures—and I couldn't put it down. I look forward to working with Tess to bring this gripping thriller to readers who, I'm sure, will devour every page as hungrily as I did."
