Huw Armstrong, previously assistant editor at Century, has been appointed editor for non-fiction at Hodder & Stoughton.
Armstrong will acquire books for the Hodder Media strand of the non-fiction list, taking up his post in the newly created role on 4th July, reporting to Hodder Media publisher Briony Gowlett.
In his role as assistant editor for PRH imprint Century, Armstrong has been involved with titles by Johnny Marr and Tim Peake, and brands such as Disney and Pokémon. He recently acquired world rights in a guide to the golden age of The Simpsons to coincide with the programme's 30th anniversary. Prior to Century, he worked at Michael Joseph where he was involved in the Ladybird Books for Grown Ups series.
Gowlett said: "I am so pleased Huw is joining the team. He has a knack for spotting up- and-coming talent and exciting opportunities and has worked on some incredibly high-profile publications. He will be a completely brilliant addition to Hodder non-fiction and has a bright future."
Armstrong said: "After a brilliant year at Cornerstone, I’m delighted to be joining Hodder & Stoughton. I have long admired the team and the creativity and quality of their publishing. Whilst I’m sad to be leaving friends at Century, I’m so excited at the opportunity to join such a talented group of colleagues and authors."
