Hot Key Books has signed a deal to become one of the UK publishers for Alloy Entertainment, creating a "brand new boutique list".
Alloy Entertainment is a division of Warner Bros Television Group, and has produced several original novels, TV series and films, including The Vampire Diaries, published in the UK by Hodder Children's Books, Pretty Little Liars (Atom in the UK) and Gossip Girl (Bloomsbury in the UK).
The Hot Key deal will see eight titles aimed at the over 11 age group released in the next two years, beginning in September with young adult sci-fi adventure Portal 24 by Meredith Stroud, which sees a teenage con-artist joining a government experiment to send teens back in time to prevent disasters.
Hot Key Books will publish in print and digital in the UK and Commonwealth.
Alloy Entertainment was represented in the deal by Rights People.
Emily Thomas, publisher at Hot Key Books, said: "As a long-time admirer of the creative and commercially savvy powerhouse that is Alloy Entertainment, we are thrilled to be working together with them on this great quality, commercial, author led list."
Leslie Morgenstein, President of Alloy Entertainment says: "Partnering with Hot Key Books allows us to continue to expand our brand and engage directly with a growing base of readers worldwide. We are confident the titles will perform well among YA audiences and know Hot Key Books will be key to this effort."
