Hodder non-fiction publisher Hannah Black has bought world rights in Kangaroo Dundee by Chris Barns, also known as Brolga.
Brolga lives in the Australian desert outback and dedicates his life to rescuing orphaned baby kangaroos. His life featured in TV series "Kangaroo Dundee", screened on BBC2 at the start of the year. The deal was concluded with Andrew Graham Brown at AGB Films, with the book out in October to tie in with a new six-part series.
Brolga said: "I feel humbled that Hodder want to tell my story. I'm just an ordinary bloke having a crack at something he believes in. Kangaroos are incredible animals, and over the years I've had moments with them I will never forget. They not only become my mates but my family."
Black described Brolga's story as "exceptionally powerful".
