Hodder acquires Misfits tie-in
20.08.12 | Charlotte Williams
Hodder & Stoughton has acquired the first official book tying in to E4 series "Misfits".
Editorial director Fenella Bates bought world rights in the book from Shirley Patton, publishing consultant at Channel 4, representing Clerkenwell Films and Channel 4. The TV drama follows a group of teenage outcasts who get caught in a flash storm while doing Community Service and find themselves lumbered with special powers.
The book will publish as a £16.99 fully-integrated hardback this autumn, to coincide with the fourth series of the hit E4 show, which will be eight one-hour episodes.
Bates said: "I am thrilled to have acquired the first official tie-in to the fabulous Misfits series. Misfits has won a cult following with its brilliant writing and superb performances. We're going to have a great time ensuring the content of the book is as sharp, rude and funny as the show is."
