Hodder acquires "Calmer, Easier, Happier" parenting title

Hodder & Stoughton has bought world rights to two parenting guides by Nöel Janis-Norton, an advisor to actress Helena Bonham Carter.

The first title Calmer, Easier, Happier Parenting will be published in spring 2012 and takes its title from Janis-Norton's teaching programmes which promise to have children confident, happy and cooperative in just 16 steps. Janis-Norton's approach has been formulated over 40 years of teaching children.

Hodder lifestyle publisher Nicky Ross, who secured rights in a "hotly contested" auction agented by Clare Hulton, said: "I love the Calmer, Easier, Happier approach which offers clear rules to follow that deliver immediate results.

"I know because I'm already following them with my children. It has huge potential to become a major parenting brand like Gina Ford or Toddler Taming."
