Highest ever entries for the indie crown

The Bookseller has received a record number of entries for its Independent Bookseller of the Year Award, sponsored by Gardners.

Fifty-two shops have bid to be recognised as the finest independent bookshop in the UK and Ireland, with the winner receiving £5,000 from Gardners.

The Bookseller, Gardners and the BA will pick seven regional winners, all of whom will vie for the top prize, to be awarded at the Bookseller Industry Awards, held this year at London's Park Lane Hilton on 14th May.

Good luck everyone - some really wonderful bookshops on this list and tons of new ones to discover too. There is a sense of acknowledgement for us in this and that just in itself means something to booksellers.
