Hey joins S&S as senior commissioning editor
11.01.12 | Charlotte Williams
Simon & Schuster has appointed Claire Hey as senior commissioning editor for fiction, reporting to S&S head of fiction Maxine Hitchcock.
Hey begins the role with immediate effect, and will drive the publishing of authors including Monique Roffey and Edward Hogan, as well as having a particular focus on historical fiction, both male and female, upmarket women's fiction and potential literary prize-winners.
Hey, who has most recently been working as a freelance editor, was previously at HarperCollins, where she worked with authors including Lionel Shriver and Tracy Chevalier. She also set up her own digital publishing house, Shortfire Press, specialising in short stories.
