Herbert is latest 20p author
20.08.12 | Joshua Farrington
Bestselling author James Herbert is the latest to have an e-book offered for 20p on Amazon and the Sony Reader e-store.
Herbert’s backlist title Others (Pan) is being sold on the two sites for only 20p, as is Fodor’s 1001 Smart Travel Tips.
The two books join a list of other big-names writers who are being sold at the low price, including Man Booker Prize-winner Alan Hollinghurst and novelists Peter James and Jeffrey Archer.
Several of the novels offered at 20p have performed strongly on Amazon’s paid-for Kindle title chart, with Alice Peterson’s Monday to Friday Man (Quercus) currently at number one, having toppled E L James’ Fifty Shades of Grey (Arrow) from the top spot.
The books are being offered at 20p by the Sony Reader Store as part of a promotion, with Amazon matching the price on their own e-books.
Sony confirmed the line-up would change frequently, and that the offer was not time-limited.
