Headline acquires debut Vowler
01.01.70 | Katie Allen
Headline has acquired two books by debut author Tom Vowler, with the first, What Lies Within, described as "an absorbing psychological suspense set in the haunting beauty of Dartmoor".
Associate publisher Claire Baldwin bought world rights in the two novels from Charlie Brotherstone at A M Heath. Headline will publish in 2013.
Baldwin said: "The author balances the parallel narratives with stunning precision, and plays with the reader's perceptions, conjuring thought-provoking themes of nature/nurture and the true meaning of family."
Translation rights have been pre-empted so far in France by Editions J C Lattes, and sold at auction in the Netherlands to AW Bruna.
