HarperCollins has secured a new contract with bestselling author Stuart MacBride.
Sarah Hodgson, HC deputy publishing director, secured world rights in three titles from Philip Patterson at Marjacq Scripts.
HC will also publish four digital short stories by the writer, after the success of his Twelve Days of Winter project in 2011, where a new story was released every day in the run-up to Christmas.
MacBride’s Logan McRae series, which includes Cold Granite and Shatter the Bones, have sold more than a million copies, while the standalone Birthdays for the Dead reached number one in the Sunday Times hardback bestseller chart, according to the publisher.
Hodgson said: “I couldn’t be more delighted to have secured another three books from the inimitable Stuart MacBride. It’s nigh on impossible to find an author who can combine intricate plotting, deft characterisation and heart-stopping action in the way Stuart does.”
The paperback of Birthdays for the Dead, with a new cover approach, will be released on 30th August, while his next Logan McRae novel is set for a January 2013 publication.
