HC signs Ollie Locke
06.11.12 | Joshua Farrington
HarperCollins has signed up a book from "Made in Chelsea" star Ollie Locke.
Anna Valentine, publishing director of Harper Non-Fiction, bought world rights in all languages from Felicity Blunt at Curtis Brown for the tell-all debut, titled Laid in Chelsea.
Locke, who has so far appeared in all four series of the E4 docu-drama, has frequently talked about writing a book, and in one scene met with Curtis Brown agent Gordon Wise to discuss the project.
Harper Non-fiction plans to publish in March 2013 alongside the planned fifth series of the programme, which regularly draws more than two million viewers.
The book is described as an insight into the mind of a modern man, and a backstage pass to the secretive world of Chelsea, with Locke laying bare his love life from his first crush onwards. The TV series will follow the release of the book including its launch party and signings.
Valentine says, “Ollie Locke is the undisputed star of 'Made in Chelsea'. Since the show featured Ollie meeting literary agent Gordon Wise to discuss the book, he has been inundated by fans desperate to buy a copy, so we’re thrilled to be working with him in his quest to let it all hang out—so to speak.”
Fellow "Made in Chelsea" star Francis Boulle publishes a book with Quercus this week.
