HarperCollins has confirmed that it will not be publishing the memoir of Jerry Hall this autumn, after the model paid back her £500,000 advance. A spokesperson for the publisher told The Bookseller: "Sadly HarperCollins will not now be publishing Jerry Hall's memoir in the autumn as planned. We have reached this decision together with Miss Hall and she has agreed to pay back any advances."
The book, which was bought in October 2007, was originally billed by HarperCollins as an "explosive" and "candid" autobiography. The Texan model was expected to reveal details of her relationship with Rolling Stone Mick Jagger.
The book was also expected to be highly critical of Carla Bruni, who is now married to French president Nicholas Sarkozy. Bruni is alleged to have had an affair with Jagger in the early 90s, while Hall was pregnant with his third child.

A friend of Hall told the newspaper: "She went to Mick and said, ‘I’ve been really nice about you in the book, but they want me to give them more. Otherwise they won’t publish and I have to give the money back’." However, a HarperCollins source hit back and claimed: "She didn't write enough. What she submitted was a small manuscript. We offered a ghostwriter but she then decided she didn't want to go through with it."
The spokesperson for HarperCollins refused to be drawn on the claims.
