HC, Riot and Viking on PR Week award shortlists
02.08.12 | Joshua Farrington
Books and publishing have a strong representation in this year's PR Week awards, with HarperCollins and Viking among those given nods for the work of their publicity and communications teams.
HarperCollins has reached the final five for the Internal Communications shortlist, following recognition for its “Digital First” project, a strategy to help staff to engage with digital, including increasing publicity of their Christmas e-book sales and promoting digital news stories. HC group communications director Siobhan Kenny will face off against her husband’s agency, Firstlight PR, also shortlisted in the category.
Shortlisted in the category for Best Campaign for Culture, Media and Sport is Consolidated PR for its work promoting World Book Day 2012.
Meanwhile, Riot Communications and Viking/Penguin Books have also been given a nod in the same category for their joint effort in publicising Charles Dickens: A Life by Claire Tomalin. The biographer’s study of the Victorian novelist was released in 2011, ahead of the bicentenary of his birth in 2012.
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on 23rd October.
