HC promotes Sasot to new pricing director role
23.08.12 | Joshua Farrington
HarperCollins has created a new business role to improve its pricing strategies.
Eloy Sasot, who joined the company a year ago from American Express, will now take on a new job as director of pricing and analytics, reporting directly to HC m.d. Simon Johnson.
His role will be to work alongside editorial, sales and marketing teams to develop dynamic pricing strategies for both physical and digital books.
Johnson said: "No business, especially a creative business, can thrive in today’s world without a thorough grasp of analytics. It is all about improving decision-making in a fast-moving business environment. Eloy has already done an incredible job delivering a market-leading e-book pricing capability at HarperCollins. Central to that has been establishing a culture of debate about pricing and spreading learning across the whole business.”
Sasot said: "Book publishing is moving at a very fast pace right now, presenting huge opportunities for innovation.”
