HC promotes Clive Kintoff
04.09.09 | Catherine Neilan
HarperCollins has promoted its UK sales director, Clive Kintoff, to the newly-created role of publishing and operations director, with responsibility for fiction, non fiction and Collins.
Kintoff, who has been at HarperCollins for four years, will now report to publisher Belinda Budge. He said he was "very much looking forward to the challenge of moving into a broader role". Kintoff added: "My task is to work with my publishing colleagues to develop new ways to increase our business, stay smart about how we publish and help deliver publishing operational efficiencies."
Kintoff will remain in his current post of UK sales director until the end of the year, although the search for his replacement "among internal as well as external candidates" is already under way.
David Roche, group sales and marketing director, said Kintoff would be "a real asset to the publishing divisions".He added: "His deep and ingrained understanding of what is required from the divisions to give our sales teams the best chance to sell the maximum number of books . . . will help us all to achieve this goal. I look forward to continuing to work closely with Clive in his new role and wish him well."
