HC hires two for marketing team
01.01.70 | Katie Allen
HarperCollins has made two new hires to its marketing team in a bid to build stronger direct-to-consumer relationships.
On the back of the appointment of Barnaby Dawe to the role of chief marketing officer, the publisher has now hired Erin Roy from IPC Media as marketing communications director and Rufus Weston, currently head of digital insight at the BBC global news division, as customer insight director.
Dawe said: “We’re delighted to welcome Erin and Rufus to HarperCollins. They both have excellent pedigrees across a number of leading media businesses. As marketing communications director, Erin will bring greater accountability to all marketing activity and help promote best practice across all divisions, with a particular focus on our digital future.
"While Rufus will be key in providing accurate analysis of our consumers, to help deliver better targeted and more focused marketing strategies around key talent.”
Roy was most recently associate publisher at IPC Media and previously worked in various marketing roles at News International, Titan Books and BBC Worldwide and Weston has held his position within the Global News Division of the BBC for three years. Before that he worked for bbc.com, BBC World and Chrysalis Radio.
