Global motor manuals publisher Haynes has scooped the top prize for Best Brand at the Licensing Awards 2008. The company, which three years ago began a brand extension programme involving a range of non-book products, fought off competition from drinks manufacturer Jack Daniel's, The V&A and Natural History Museum, Playboy and Michelin.
John Haynes, m.d of Haynes Publishing UK and Europe, said: "We have long recognised that Haynes is a global brand with universal appeal to men and women. Now our licensing strategy is bringing the Haynes brand to the attention of a much larger and younger audience. We are extremely pleased to have gained this award against such strong competition."
