Hartmann new Bertelsmann c.f.o.
11.07.12 | Charlotte Williams
Random House parent company Bertelsmann has appointed Judith Hartmann to succeed Thomas Rabe as chief financial officer.
Rabe remains as chairman and chief executive officer at the company, having been additionally holding the financial role since 1st January.
Hartmann will take up her appointment before the end of 2012, and will at that time simultaneously become a member of Bertelsmann's Group Management Committee (GMC). She will join Bertelsmann from her current position as c.f.o. of General Electric Deutschland.
Rabe said: "[Hartmann] is eminently qualified for the tasks required to gradually reshape Bertelsmann in the years ahead. I will work closely with her.
"At the same time I am very pleased that her appointment means the addition of another woman to the Bertelsmann Board and the GMC."
