HarperCollins US is launching a series of video books for viewing on a personal computer or iPod.
The publisher has teamed up with Amazon.com to sell a video version of Jeff Jarvis' What Would Google Do? through its digital download store.
The Washington Post reports that the 23 minute video, which will sell for $9.99, can be viewed on personal computers. Versions are also being developed for the Apple iPod and iPhone. The publisher is initially looking at releasing six video books per year. The newspaper says that authors will receive 25% of the sales, the same rate as for e-books.
Jarvis' book, which went on sale in the United Kingdom yesterday (2nd February), looks at how businesses need to emulate Google in order to thrive in the 21st century.
