HarperCollins to publish Tyson memoir
01.01.70 | Katie Allen
HarperCollins UK is to publish the autobiography of controversial boxer Mike Tyson in October 2013.
Harper non-fiction publisher Carole Tonkinson bought UK, Commonwealth (excluding Canada) and exclusive European rights from David Vigliano of Vigliano Associates.
Tonkinson said: “Mike Tyson is certainly no stranger to controversy, both in and out of the ring—his story promises to be raw, emotive, honest and, above all, truly compelling.”
The former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion holds the record as the youngest boxer to win the WBC, WBA and IBF world heavyweight titles and the first heavyweight boxer to hold all three titles simultaneously. He has also served a prison sentence for rape and was disqualified from a boxing match against Evander Holyfield in 1997 for biting off part of his opponent's ear.
The book has a US publisher, yet to be announced.
