Harlequin signs up 'beautifully quirky' debut
27.07.12 | Joshua Farrington
Harlequin has acquired the rights to a debut novel by travel journalist Claire Garber, in a deal with Charlotte Robertson at Aitken Alexander Associates.
Editor Jenny Hutton bought the world rights for the book, Love is a Thief, which will be released as a paperback in July 2013, backed by a high profile print and digital advertising campaign asking shoppers what love has stolen from them.
Hutton said: "Love is a Thief has an amazing premise that hooked the whole office from the first page. Claire's writing is sharply witty, innovative, and beautifully quirky."
She added: "This is commercial women's fiction at its best. It's rare to come across a debut as special as this."
