Hancock and Valentine among HarperCollins promotions

HarperCollins has promoted Sam Hancock to digital product development manager.
In his new role, Hancock will focus on product development including apps, and working on key brands such as J R R Tolkien. He will also be spearheading new initiatives likes the company's digital lounge lab, and work alongside outside partners on digital projects.
Isabella Steel, head of digital business development, said: "Sam has been integral to the digital team since he joined last year. He has spearheaded the installation and development of Netgalley, The Bolt and taken on the interactive product development role admirably managing the Tolkien digital publishing and forging great relations with Apple and other app partners."
There have also been changes in the Harper Nonfiction editorial team, with Anna Valentine promoted to publishing director, and Victoria McGeown promoted to senior commissioning editor. There have been movements in their digital team too, with Rachel Kenny, who joined as an editorial assistant, promoted to digital editor.
