Guardian Books to publish Secret Footballer

Guardian Books is to publish a title by the newspaper's columnist The Secret Footballer.

Publisher Katie Roden acquired world rights, all languages in the title I Am The Secret Footballer, directly from the author. The Random House Books imprint will publish on 23rd August as a £12.99 trade paperback.

Roden said: "“The Secret Footballer is the most talked-about columnist at the Guardian. Legions of dedicated fans debate his identity in blogs and on Twitter, but only three people here know who he is. His writing is so forthright and compelling that of course publishers have been asking him to do a book for ages. We’re delighted to have signed him up.”

The Secret Footballer has been writing a weekly column for the Guardian since Janary 2011.
