Grove Press UK to investigate killing of bin Laden
04.07.12 | Katie Allen
Grove Press UK is to publish a title about the hunt for and killing of Al-Qaeda-founder Osama bin Laden.
It will publish The Finish: The Killing of Osama bin Laden by Mark Bowden on 23rd October as hardback and e-book, simultaneously with parent company Grove Atlantic in the US. Morgan Entrekin, Grove Atlantic president and c.e.o., bought world rights from the author.
The title provides an “unrivalled account” of the bin Laden strike. Bowden, the author of Black Hawk Down and Guests of the Ayatollah, gained access to key players and inside the war room. According to the publisher, an Obama administration official was quoted in the New York Times as saying: “There wasn’t a meeting when someone didn’t mention Black Hawk Down.”
Entrekin said: “This is the perfect match of author and subject.”
Rights have been sold around the world including Brazil (Objetiva), Denmark (Gyldendal), France (Grasset), Germany (Berlin Verlag), Holland (De Bezige Bij), Italy (Rizzoli), and Sweden (Bonniers), and audio rights to Audible.
