Hodder & Stoughton is launching a new personal development list in early 2014, and has appointed Liz Gough to the role of publisher.
Gough will join Hodder on 26th February from Pan Macmillan, where she was an editorial director and responsible for books including Marie de Hennezel's The Warmth of the Heart Prevents Your Body from Rusting and Alain de Botton's The School of Life series.
Gough will report to non-fiction publishing director Rowena Webb. Webb said: "Self-help has always been a strong area for us at Hodder with successes including Dr Pierre Dukan's The Dukan Diet; Noel Janis-Norton's Calmer, Easier, Happier Parenting and Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now. I'm delighted that Liz is able to bring her tremendous creativity and focus to this new list which will be a significant growth area for our non-fiction publishing."
Gough said: "While I am sad to be saying goodbye to everyone at Pan Macmillan, I am thrilled to be joining Hodder & Stoughton and look forward to capitalising on the team's existing expertise in this area to create a stand-out list of books to help people improve and enhance their lives."
