Gardners reveals its colour e-reader
17.09.12 | Philip Jones
Gardners Books unveiled its 6” colour e-book device GoTab at its annual trade show held yesterday (16th September) ahead of The Booksellers Association conference.
The device - 6” GoTab™ GBT6 - will be available in October for a suggested price of £59, and features a Hive Reader, allowing users to download e-books direct from the Hive website.
The e-book device will be available for independent booksellers to retail as part of Gardners' Hive network. Bob Jackson, commercial director at Gardners Books, said: "We see this as a huge opportunity for independent booksellers to compete with online multi-national retailers and embrace ‘going digital’ by selling e-books whilst retaining their loyal customer base."
The touchscreen Wi-Fi device uses Android 4, and offers access to 400,000 apps via the Google Play store.
