The 2011 Galaxy National Book Awards will take place on 4th November, rather than the 9th, with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge announced as the location.
Agile Marketing m.d. Alastair Giles said: "It's mainly a TV decision—that was always our first choice, that hotel, and it came through on that date after it had a late cancellation, I think. It all came together. Obviously it's a shame it's a late change, but the advantages far outweigh it."
This follows news that the ceremony will not be broadcast in full this year, with a six-part series covering the awards and winning books to be shown on More4 instead. The awards show will be produced by Cactus TV, with canapes and champagne to be served throughout the ceremony, which will be invitation only.
The awards’ new categories and sponsors will be confirmed next week, with the shortlist announced on 17th October. The first episode in the six-part series will be screened on 12th November, with the series running until 17th December.
