Neil Gaiman will be the final author in the Doctor Who e-book series from Puffin.
The stories are part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the BBC television series, with other authors including Malorie Blackman and Charlie Higson each writing a story about one of the Doctor's regenerations.
Gaiman's story, Nothing O'Clock, will follow the Eleventh Doctor, portrayed by actor Matt Smith, and his companion Amy Pond, as they face a new enemy, the Kin.
The fantasy author, who has also written episodes of the TV series, said he would like to see the story on the screen. He told the BBC: "Wouldn't this be fun to see if I can actually make people wee themselves with terror in real life?"
Nothing O'Clock will be published on 21st November priced at £1.99.
