Fromage Frais leading Odd Title race
23.03.09 | Philip Jones
The 2009-2014 World Outlook for 60-milligram Containers of Fromage Frais is leading the race to become the Oddest Title of 2008 as the competition enters its final week of voting. More than 4,000 votes have so far been cast, with Professor Philip M Parker's landmark study, scooping 31% of the share.
The book, published by Icon Group International, is a full 10 percentage points ahead of Baboon Metaphysics, with 21% of the vote, and Curbside Consultation of the Colon, with 18%.
Horace Bent, The Bookseller's legendary diarist and custodian of the prize, said: "Although Professer Parker's analysis of a niché aspect of the fromage frais market currently leads the voting, there's still plenty of time to vote. Techniques for Corrosion Monitoring led the voting for the first few days but now sits in last place with a dismal 4% of the public vote. It just goes to show how quickly things can change."
The winner will be revealed on 27th March. Vote on theBookseller.com.
