Freight buys Glass collection
25.06.12 | Benedicte Page
Glasgow-based independent Freight Books has bought a collection of short stories by Rodge Glass, author of Bring Me the Head of Ryan Giggs (Tindal Street, 2012) and Somerset Maugham Award-winning Alasdair Gray: A Secretary's Biography (Bloomsbury, 2009).
LoveSexTravelMusik, dubbed by the author "stories for the EasyJet generation", was acquired via Jenny Brown Associations with publication planned for spring 2013.
Freight Books publisher Adrian Searle said: "Rodge has published a number of these excellent stories in Gutter, the award-winning literary magazine we publish twice a year, so we were naturally delighted when he chose us for the collection. It falls somewhere between Alain de Botton's The Art of Travel and Alex Garland's The Beach and is a natural holiday read."
Freight Books also published Glass's graphic novel Dougie's War.
