Michael Joseph’s rights team, headed by Chantal Noel, has signed four deals for a trilogy of historical novels by début author Liz Fremantle set in the court of Henry VIII.
The trilogy, the first of which is The Queen’s Gambit, sold in “a big six-figure deal” to Simon & Schuster US, Italian rights have gone to Mondadori, Brazilian rights acquired by Companhia das Letras, and Bertelsmann bought the German rights at auction.
