Firth and Fassbender to star in literary drama

Colin Firth and Michael Fassbender are to star in a film about the relationship between writer Thomas Wolfe and his editor, based on A. Scott Berg's biography Max Perkins: Editor of Genius.

"Skyfall" writer John Logen will adapt the script with Michael Grandage to direct "Genius", according to the Telegraph.

Grandage said: "John Logan, Colin Firth and Michael Fassbender is an extraordinary line-up to work with. Together, we can all now look ahead to making this project a reality and bring this amazing story to the attention of audiences everywhere."

"Genius" will follow Wolfe's rise in the literary scene and his turbulent friendship with Perkins, who also discovered F Scott Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway. Perkins remained Wolfe's literary executor after the author's death in 1938.

Shooting for the project is scheduled to begin in early 2014. Max Perkins: Editor of Genius, which won a National Book Award, is published by Pan.
