Fiorato moves to John Murray
06.10.10 | Jo Young
Marina Fiorato, author of the hit historical romance The Glassblower of Murano, has signed with John Murray for her next two novels.
The first of these, Daughter of Siena, will be released next summer. Like much of the author’s work, the book has been inspired by Italian history and culture and is set against the background of the city’s famous Palio horse race.
Fiorato is making the move to John Murray having first been published in the UK by independent Beautiful Books. Her debut novel became a bestseller, selling in 12 countries, and the company also published the author’s follow-up novels, The Madonna of the Almonds and The Botticelli Secret.
John Murray’s acquiring editor Kate Parkin, who concluded the deal with agent Teresa Chris, called it “a real team acquisition”.
