Faber & Faber has launched a website dedicated to the "beloved" crime writer and author P D James, on the date of the author's birthday.
The new site showcases all of James' books, including the Adam Dalgliesh and Cordelia Gray mysteries her standalone novels, short stories and non-fiction. The books are available to buy from the website, which also houses an extensive archive of annotated manuscripts, photographs of the author throughout her life, first editions and rare book covers, audiobook excerpts, interviews and information about television and film adaptations. The site will offer a 20% discount on the books for Faber members.
The site will be the online hub for information about James, encouraging fans and new readers to discover more about her work and life.
Stephen Page, c.e.o of Faber, said: "This site is a rich resource for readers, whether they are one of the huge number of P.D. James's fans from around the world, or a reader coming to her books for the first time."
This October, Faber is publishing Sleep No More, a new collection of six "vengeful" short stories from James, in time for the Christmas market.
James died in November 2014 in her home in Oxford aged 94. Her first novel Cover her Face, was published in 1962, and featured her most famous creation, criminal investigator Adam Dalgliesh. She went on to write 14 Dalgliesh novels, as well as several other fiction and non-fiction titles, including dystopian novel The Children of Men, which was turned into a major Hollywood film.
Before she died she released Death Comes to Pemberley (Faber) which was later adapted for television.
She was made a life peer in 1991, and served as president of the Society of Authors from 1997 to 2013.
