Faber has been added to the e-book platform Jellybooks, offering excerpts of their titles for readers to sample and buy.
The publishing house has joined fellow Independent Alliance member Profile Books on the website, which allows readers to browse and read samples of titles, share them with their friends, as well as presenting a them with a buy button.
Jellybooks describes itself as a book version of Last.fm – a music social networking website which tracks the songs users listen to, and suggests similar music, as well as connecting people to other fans. Registered users of Jellybooks can store their online libraries in a cloud system, and will receive alerts showing them when titles they are interested in are offered in sales.
The site currently offers samples for readers using different apps on iPads, iPhones, Android devices and on their computers.
It does not yet support Kindle formats, but says the service will be coming “very, very soon”.
It is accessible from the Nook, and Jellybooks said it plans to offer access for Sony eReaders and similar devices soon.
