Faber buys two more from Preston

Faber has acquired two further books from Alex Preston, author of This Bleeding City.

Editor Walter Donohue acquired world English rights in a two-book deal with Ed Wilson at Johnson and Alcock. He described The Full Fathom Five, the first book of the deal, as: "a novel of remarkable assurance. It should firmly establish Alex Preston as the chronicler of his generation."

The story focuses on a group of young people as they are drawn into The Course, a destructive religious cult.

Faber plans to publish The Full Fathom Five in early spring 2012, with the as-yet untitled second novel of the deal to follow.
