Faber has acquired a third novel from Apples author Richard Milward.
Publishing director Lee Brackstone acquired world rights in Kimberly’s Capital Punishment from Cathryn Summerhayes at WME, with plans to publish an exclusive limited edition, signed, numbered and featuring an individual design by Milward, on 5th July 2012. A trade paperback edition will follow on 16th August 2012, with the e-book published two days earlier, on 14th August.
Brackstone called the novel, which features six different endings for the reader to choose from, “provocative, extreme and surrealistic fiction".
The book tells the story of Kimberly Clark who follows her love, Stevie, to London but soon tires of him. Half-way through the book, she dies and the Grim Reaper takes over the narration, giving the reader the choice of the different endings for Kimberly’s soul.
Brackstone added: “It’s the same principle as a Fighting Fantasy/Choose Your Own Adventure book. But the novel also works if you want to read the endings consecutively.”
