Enhanced Editions signs deal with AudioGO
19.11.10 | Katie Allen
Enhanced Editions has announced a partnership with AudioGO, the new company formed following the sale of BBC Audiobooks, to produce enhanced versions of works from the BBC archive.
The digital publisher will create enhanced e-book apps using unabridged audiobooks from AudioGO's list with texts, images and video from the BBC Archive, including actress Miriam Margoyles reading Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. The titles will be available in the run-up to Christmas, with r.r.p. still to be confirmed.
"AudioGO has a catalogue of contemporary and classic fiction, drama, history and biography, plus unrivalled access to the BBC Archive. Through this first-of-its-kind partnership, we're thrilled to bring these titles to a new generation of digital consumers," said Enhanced Editions co-founder Rhys Cazenove.
The launch list comprises BBC Radio 4 full-cast productions of Shakespeare’s “King Lear”, “Othello”, “Hamlet” and “Macbeth”.
BBC Worldwide sold 85% of its BBC Audiobook arm to AudioGO Limited in July this year.
