Independent publisher Snowbooks has signed an eight-book deal with horror writer Thomas Emson, with titles due for release over the next four years.
The deal was struck following the success of Emson's first Snowbook release—a werewolf novel called Maneater.
The first of Emson's new books opens a vampire trilogy entitled Skarlet. It will be published early in 2009. The following book, Prey, is due out in September, with the subsequent titles to be released regularly until The Haunt comes out in September 2012.
Emma Barnes, managing director of Snowbooks, said: "His writing is first class, he is a joy to work with, and when we read his proposals for the next eight books each of them sounded exceptional. Snowbooks is a cautious publisher, but the opportunity to work with Thomas in the long term was too great to turn down and so we are delighted to have signed this very unusual deal with him."
