Ed Ripley joins Walker
12.12.12 | Charlotte Williams
Walker Books has appointed Ed Ripley to the position of UK sales and marketing director and Walker Group export sales director, with Ripley to move from Pan Macmillan to take up the post.
Ripley is currently UK sales director of children's books at Pan Macmillan, and will take up his appointment at Walker in the spring. Before his 10 years at Macmillan, where he has worked across both adult and children's sales, Ripley was UK sales director for Murdoch Books.
Walker Books Group managing director Karen Lotz said: "We are so pleased to have Ed be joining us. The breadth of his sales experience overall as well as his specialist's background in building prominent, long-lasting children's brands in the UK marketplace are a perfect match for Walker's rich variety of offerings."
At Walker, Kate Beal has been named interim UK marketing director in addition to her role as head of UK sales, and will be looking after Walker's publicity, consumer, and trade marketing efforts during the transition. She will report into Ripley on his arrival.
