Ebury Press has acquired New York Times bestseller and YouTube phenomenon The Middle Place by Kelly Corrigan.
Publishing director Andrew Goodfellow acquired UK & Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, from Shaheeda Sabir at Curtis Brown, on behalf of Andrea Barvzi at ICM.
The Middle Place is a memoir about Corrigan's discovery that she had cancer and her reaction - to send an email to 100 people inviting them to a party one year later to celebrate her recovery.
Her father was then diagnosed with late-stage cancer, leaving Corrigan to look after him and her own children. Ebury described the book as "warm, funny and a touch bittersweet".
The title will be published on 21st January 2010, as a paperback original priced at £7.99.
Corrigan's reading of a self-penned essay, entitled Transcending: Words on Women and Strength has been watched by more than 4.5m YouTube viewers worldwide.
