Ebury buys Micky Flanagan memoir
12.08.11 | Graeme Neill
Ebury has bought a memoir by "Mock the Week" and "Live at the Apollo" star Micky Flanagan.
Deputy publisher Andrew Goodfellow bought world rights from Cathryn Summerhayes at William Morris and Christain Knowles at CKP for an undisclosed sum.
Described as "personal, confessional and very funny", Ebury said the book will chart Flanagan's rise from his working class roots in the east end of London to his success as a stand-up. It will be published for Christmas 2012.
Goodfellow said: "Speaking for myself, Micky makes me laugh like a drain, it's as simple as that. Speaking as a publisher Micky has a phenomenal story to tell. He's fast turning into the most in-demand comic in the country. I think his DVD this autumn will be massive and the major TV channels are falling over themselves to make him a star, all giving him the peak platform for what promises to be a very special book."
