Easons to launch a company makeover
09.03.11 | Lisa Campbell
Easons is to launch a company makeover in the next 12 months.
The Irish bookseller's managing director, Conor Whelan, has announced plans to give a facelift to the Easons website, launch a loyalty card scheme for customers and create "in-store interactive e-zones" to renovate certain outlets over the next year.
He revealed at the Publishing Ireland Conference that the plans were part of a company-wide comprehensive strategy review, with the loyalty card launching within the next six months and the website redesign scheduled for November.
The new strategy is based on improving the company's performance, according to Irish Publishing News, and came about after comprehensive internal reviews, consultants' reports and visits to retailers in the UK, the US and other countries.
Within his presentation at the Publishing Ireland Conference, Whelan said he also believed Easons did not have the same 'consumer connection' in Northern Ireland as it has in the south.
Whelan joined Easons in September 2009.
